November 21 - TV Taping
December 5 and 19 - TV Tapings
January 2, 2010 - Season's Beatings

All events will take place at the NWA TV Arena,
4236 Level Grove Road, Cornelia, Ga. Bell time is 8pm. For tickets call 706-476-2017  November 7 NWA Anarchy TV Taping Report by Larry Goodman--------------------------------------------------------------------------------NWA Anarchy said farewell to one of the greats of Cornelia wrestling last night with a special tribute to the recently retired Iceberg…who immediately unretired…for one night only.  Attendance for the first of four TV tapings leading into Season’s Beatings was 85. The odd thing was that for much of the night, they were louder than the crowd twice that size last week at Fright Night. There was good reason for their enthusiasm. Top to bottom, it was a strong taping, with the babyfaces going over in the two key matches. They also set up some things to entice fans into returning in two weeks.  The Anarchy announce team of Greg Hunter and John Johnson opened the show. The traditional opening music and video (property of departed production guy Kevin Marx) is sorely missed, so far as hyping the crowd.  (1) New Wave (Steven Walters & Derrick Driver) & Wild Bunch (Chris King & Billy Buck) defeated The Entourage (Andrews Alexander & Mike Mosley & Jay Clinton & Mr. Black) in 9:36. Clinton was taking double team punishment on behalf of Entourage, until Black conked Driver with a devastating headbutt. Clinton played Iceberg copy cat again with a cannonball splash. Alexander started grinding on Driver’s gut. Driver reversed a second vertical suplex by Alexander, but the heels cut off the tag. Nice swerve. Driver eluded Clinton’s top rope elbow and made the hot tag to Buck. He was running wild until he ran into Black, who promptly planted him with a chokeslam. Black tried to chokeslam Walters, but was stymied by Driver. New Wave sent Black out with a double team. Clinton then fell victim to the Wild Bunch special – a Buck superkick followed by King’s Rocker Dropper. Crowd was into it. Good opener.  (2) Todd Sexton beat Jacob Ashworth in 6:30. Like the opener, the work was solid and the crowd was alive. Ashworth got a good response. He used to ref here, and he’s a regular on the APW shows in nearby Royston. Sexton put together an interesting match. The thing that stood about this one was the way he was laying in the strikes. Ashworth won the battle for control. He used an elevated armbar, then hit a corner splash for a near fall. Ashworth made a rookie mistake with a reckless charge and ate a kick to the back of the head for his troubles. Sexton opened up on him. He got two with a cool middle rope forearm to the neck. Ashworth came back with big punches. Sexton was going up and down like a yo-yo. Ashworth used a Side Effect for a near fall. Sexton nailed Ashworth with three consecutive kicks to the jaw and finished him with the running knee.  Sexton was about to deliver another knee when he was speared by Veterano IV. Ref Ken Wallace pulled him off. Sexton went after the mask, but IV fought him off. Sexton called IV a dirty immigrant and vowed to take the mask in two weeks. The next segment was the Iceberg tribute. Bill Behrens recalled Iceberg coming into NWA Wildside almost a decade ago with a rep based on pinfall wins over Mr. Pogo and Abdullah the Butcher. He joined the NWA Elite, became a Wildside Heavyweight Champion and tag team champion (with Tank), and continued on with NWA Anarchy. Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer came out with his “new friend” Kimo. Palmer said he had 28 days to sell Kimo on doing things the American way vs. the Jeff G. Bailey way. Palmer recalled July 2006, when Iceberg earned his respect by beating him to within an inch of his life.  Through all the smoke and mirrors of this building, he beat my ***.  Clinton interrupted the proceedings. He said that on October 3, he retired wrestling’s only serial killer to become “The Being of Inconceivable Greatness, the New Pain Train”. Clinton demanded respect and said he wasn’t leaving. Buffoon of Clinton's quality are hard to come by. Fans chanted “Kimo”. Palmer turned Kimo loose by removing his mask, and he left Clinton laying with two blows. Clinton was carried out by security.  Palmer introduced Iceberg. He said Iceberg was an easier man to love than to hate, and he had become one of his best friends ever. A video package of Iceberg’s career highlights was shown on the WrestleVision. The crowd popped when the video shifted from clips showing Iceberg as Cornelia’s most feared villain to his more recent babyface run. Props to Kareem Abdul Jamar on the video production. Palmer asked Iceberg if he would sub in the main event because Caprice Coleman wasn’t there due to an emergency. Out came an irate Jeff G. Bailey. He reminded Palmer that Iceberg was retired as a stipulation of a match. Bailey questioned Palmer’s decency. He called Palmer a fraud and a phony. Bailey said “Reverend” Dan Wilson was in a wheelchair as a result of what Iceberg did to him, and wasn’t there tonight because he had to have another surgery. Bailey was pretty awesome here. Of late, Anarchy hasn’t been taking full advantage of his prodigious mic skills. Iceberg spoke. He said Iceberg was retired, but Edward Chastain from Thomaston, Ga was not, and that’s who would be wrestling in the main event.  (3) NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Shadow Jackson & Mikal Judas beat Jeremy Vain & Orion Bishop in 14:23. Early in the match, Vain gave Judas a piece of his mind and slammed him. What was he thinking? Decimation ensued. Vain was bumping like mad. Judas applied a vice-like headlock that had Vain screaming in agony. Fun stuff. Bishop turned the tide with a lariat from the apron on Jackson. Bigtime heat on Jackson. Bigtime chants from the crowd. Bishop was destroying Jackson with his signature moves. Jackson’s leg was quivering after the Vader style reverse splash. Bishop hit that killer fallaway slam of his. Out of nowhere, Jackson hit a stunner on Vain. Judas cleaned house and had Vain set up for El Crucifijo, but decided to tag Jackson in. Bishop jumped in to spear Jackson and Vain made the cover. While the ref was busy admonishing Bishop, Judas gave Vain the chokeslam. Just like Fright Night, Jackson planted Vain with the 1031 for the 1-2-3, except this got a better pop.  Postmatch, Judas raised Jackson’s hand but was reluctant to let go of the title belt. Jackson had a look of consternation on his face. As Judas headed toward the front door, he paused to bow to Jackson. Stay tuned for further developments.  Intermission. The first hour of television was easily better than the first half of Fright Night. (4) Talent & Money (JT Talent & Drew Pendleton III) defeated Rowdy Friends (Don Matthews & Jessco Blue) to retain the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Championship in 54 seconds. Before the match could get underway, Hate Junkies did a Pearl Harbor job on the Rowdies. Matthews was tossed into the ring like a piece of meat. Pendleton pounced on him. Matthews instinctively kicked out, but was in shape to wrestle a match. T & M hit the Rodeo Driver and Pendleton got the pin. That made it two cheap, tainted wins in a row for the champions.  (5) Seth Delay & Mike Posey (with Brodie Chase) beat Slim J & Bo Newsome in 7:46. There’s no better rub for Newsome than teaming him with Slimmy. The heels were upset about the bandanas J was throwing into the crowd. Typical all business approach from J with some MMA stuff mixed in (he has done MMA matches). A brief exchange between J and Posey left me wanting to see them in a singles match. Newsome took the heat. Posey and Delay used a nice slingshot leg drop/side slam combo. Posey went for a figure four headscissors and Newsome countered with a powerbomb. Hot tag to J. A tornado kick sent Delay out of the ring. Newsome went up top for the spinal tap. It missed. While Chase was decimating J on the outside, Posey pinned Newsome with a guillotine legdrop that covered ¾ of the ring on the fly. Well done. Afterwards, the heels attacked Newsome. Chase strapped the hell out of Newsome with his belt. This was a redo of Fright Night, except a lot more vicious – like six stinging shots that put welts on Bo’s back. J hit the ring with a chair for the save. Palmer came out with Kimo. He suspended Posey and Delay for starters. He said since Chase liked to play with belts, he was putting him against Newsome in a fan participation strap match on November 21. Palmer said there would be six fans in all. “Superfan” Slim J would be number one and ringside fan “strapmaster” Bo would be number two. The other four would be drawn at random for the chance to tan Chase’s hide. (6) Aden Chambers defeated Azrael and Hayden Young and J-Rod and BJ Hancock in a Young Lion’s Scramble Match (total time 12:23). Gauntlet style with two men starting and winner staying on to face a new opponent. Azrael and Hancock started. Crowd was quiet for the first time. Hancock got some early offense. Azrael busted out the Old Testament (DVD Bomb) and pinned Hancock with the slit throat piledriver at 3:51. Hayden Young entered next. Azrael did a number on his knee. Young managed to lariat Azrael out of the ring, but his knee went out on when he tried for a slingshot move. Azrael dismantled Young outside the ring and he was counted out in 4:06. J-Rod was next. He gave Azrael a run for his money, hitting a basement dropkick to the ear and getting the best of a strike exchange. That rarely happens in a Azrael match. Azrael sat down on J-Rod’s slingshot sunset flip and use the ropes for extra leverage at 3:05. Chambers was last in. He pinned Azael with a DVD in just 1:21. This was the only match that did not work. Crowd was dead. Fans didn’t want to root against Azrael. You had a veteran top level heel who has gained the respect of the fans, going against three faces that nobody really knows or cares about, plus Young, who was coming off an undistinguished program with the champion, Skirra Corvus. The win did nothing for Chambers’ standing as a babyface. He beat a guy that had already been worn down by a 10 minute gauntlet. Big deal. Being opportunistic is usually a heel trait.  J-Rod and Chambers vs. Devil’s Rejects (Azarel & Corvus) was announced for November 21. (7) Edward Chastain & Truitt Fields defeated Phil Shatter (with Jeff G. Bailey) & Shaun Tempers when Chastain pinned Tempers at 15:55. Iceberg wrestled in his dress shirt and tie. Shatter wanted no part of Chastain. Chastain tossed Tempers into the heel corner to force the issue. Fields and Chastain pulled off a crisp sequence of shoulder tackles. But Shatter was able to post Fields’ shoulder. Shatter followed with a single arm DDT. Shatter used a variant of the Garvin Stomp. The heels cut the ring in half and beat on Fields for a very long time. Fields’ selling was top notch. Shatter extended Fields’ arm toward the corner to taunt Iceberg. A Fields lariat set up the hot tag. Chastain cleaned house. Bailey got up on the apron to take one last bump for Berg..um Chastain. Chastain hit a belly to belly on Tempers but Shatter saved. Fields and Shatter went sailing over the top rope together. Tempers tried for the hangman neckbreaker. Not happening. Chastain hit the Ground Zero for the pin.  Tank hit the ring. H started trading shots with Evil Edward. Shatter jumped in to make it two against one, but Chastain would not go down. Palmer brought Kimo out to make the save, and the we had our first confrontation between Kimo and Shatter.  Fans were on the feet with nonstop applause. All of the babyface wrestlers surrounded the ring and started pounding the mat. Everyone was chanting “You’re a legend”. With tears in his eyes, Iceberg circled the ring hugging and saying his goodbyes to each and every fan. It’s a weird thing to say when I think about the incredibly violent, gruesome acts Iceberg committed in the ring over the years, but it was a fitting farewell to a sweet, gentle soul.  NOTES: Season’s Beating takes place on January 2, 2010…Posey has been working the NWA Main Event tapings in Nashville on a regular basis. On November 5, he served as referee, ring announcer and wrestler all in the same match. “Wings n Things” – available starting October 31, 2009 at
www.nwame.com
Taped on October 15, at the NWA Studio in Nashville

Opening with highlight clips from last week’s main event, Will Owens over “Boogie Woogie Boy” via foreign object, including previously unseen footage of the humiliating postmatch beating dished out by Owens.

Cut to the ring. “The Captain” Tyler Clemmons said Boogie was in the house and ready to speak his mind. Out came Owens wearing a do rag and a Boogie Woogie Boy t-shirt. Owens gloated about getting rid of Boogie and said he ruled the roost in NWA ME.

With chants of “Barney” ringing in his ears, Chad Hyatt interrupted Owens. Hyatt told Owens he was his hero and he wanted to be his friend. Owens said if Hyatt won is match, he would consider his offer. The audio was so poor, the conversation required on screen captions.

Owens said he would be the next NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Champion, and the destruction would start with whoever was brave enough to come out there. In the midst of the cacophony, the voice of Chicken Hat Charles could be heard calling Owens “lard ass”.

Out came “The Colorado Kid” Mike f’n Rapada. He didn’t look all that different than 10 years ago. Same hair, a little heavier, but he wasn’t a low body fat type back in the day. It was heartening to learn that Rapada’s mediocre mic skills were still intact, as he accepted Owens’ challenge. “I don’t come from the nowadays. I come from the yesterdays,” he said. Rapada invoked the names of Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee, Tommy Rich and Brian Christopher and brought up his NWA world title reign. Rapada said he was going to demonstrate the difference between good wrestling and great wrestling. Based on NWA ME’s recent history, I would be thrilled with average wrestling. Owens said it wasn’t 1997. Rapada was the past and he was the future. He accepted Rapada’s acceptance.

Aaron Camaro and Clemmons on commentary.

(1) Arachnid beat
Chad Hyatt in 6 minutes. A little flying and some atrocious forearms from the masked man showing spider like tendencies. Hyatt took over with power moves and lazy pin attempts. In short, Camaro said Hyatt had a lot to learn, and Owens was the just the guy to teach him. Highlight of the match was Hyatt missing the most ridiculous looking guillotine legdrop in wresting history. Overshot Arachnid by three feet, and the guy never moved. They traded God awful blow from their knees. Hyatt ate it charging in and got rolled up.

Camaro was backstage with Jeremiah Flynt, a stocky, redneck powerhouse type, who said he was the future – “the greatest wrestler in the South, Jeremiah Flynt”.

(2) Corey Hollis beat Jeremiah Flynt in
5:10.
Hollis was giving Flynt fits, until he tried for the Pele. Flynt shrugged it off. He proceeded to brutalize the kid. Flynt hit a sitout butterfly suplex and made a one finger cover. Camaro said that was stupid. Camaro was right. Hollis hit the Pele out of nowhere for a close near fall. Hollis reversed a wind up slam with the crossface, but Flynt made the ropes. Flynt planted Hollis with a capture slam and made another lazy cover. As Flynt was griping about a slow count, Hollis caught him with a pinning combination. Good pop for the finish.

(3) Matt Boyce beat Mike Posey via DQ to retain the NWA Mid-America TV Title in 8 minutes. Boyce not taking any crap from Posey and controlling the action with a tenacious side headlock. At 3 minutes in, Posey pumphandled Boyce’s arm over the top rope and sent his shoulder into the turnbuckle. Posey exploited the vulnerable body part bigtime. He used a keylock among other things. Boyce got his comeback. Posey ducked the frogsplash and went for a pin with his feet on the ropes (same way he won last week). Ref Chris Johnson caught him. Posey slapped Johnson for the DQ.

Chris Ganzer said he and partner Chris Lightning (
Georgia
guys) were going to make an impact.

(4) Kaleb Kastle beat Razor X in
5:18
. They tried to do the intense collar and elbow opening, but they either couldn’t do a proper lock up. They traded open hand slaps with Kastle getting the better of it. Blake Roswell came to ringside. X took over with a hotshot. His offense sucked so bad it was painful to watch. Kastle grazed X with a corkscrew kick for a double down. Kastle doesn’t have the build for that kind of stuff. Kastle won it with the Kastle Bomb (a DVD). Horrible match.

(5) White Tiger beat “Five Star Prospect” Jay Popular in
5:57. Camaro was selling the idea that Tiger magically transforms from video into the flesh. Popular, an arrogant, beefy guy in full body spandex, jumped Tiger and gave him a beating. His offense looked fine. After getting nary a blow in the entire match, Tiger knocked Popular off the ropes and hit the Tiger Splash. He sold the impact ala Van Dam before making the cover.

Backstage, Clemmons interviewed Kastle. “Ladies and gentleman, hold on and buckle up, you’re in for a ride you will never forget.”

(6) Will Owens beat Mike Rapada in
6:48.
Rapada prodded the fans into some “chicken” heat for Owens. The announce team speculated about Boogie’s situation. Clemmons said Rapada’s return brought the fans back up from the crashing disappointment of Boogie not being there. Lots of stalling and whining by Owens, and it was getting heat. Owens took Rapada’s leg out and went on the attack. Owens used a lariat for a near fall. He kept Rapada on the mat. Camaro called them two Alpha males. Clemmons said an announcement about the vacant NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Title would be made next week. Swinging neckbreaker by Rapada. As Rapada administered the 10 Punches of Doom, Owens pulled a foreign object out of his tights. Swing and a miss. Back suplex attempt by Rapada and a shot to the head with the foreign object from Owens, who landed on top for the three. The kids in the crowd were screaming their lungs out about the foreign object.

We saw Owens making his way out of the building. Hyatt got down on his knees and begged for one more chance. Owens told Hyatt to clean up his boots and bring them back tomorrow.

THOUGHTS: A marginally better show than week one of the New Season. The inring segment got things off to an intriguing start. I enjoyed the thing with Hyatt. Seeing Rapada was a trip. Whatever he did was at least going to be interesting. It went straight to hell with the first match, one of two hideous matches on this show (X/Kastle being the other). It’s hard to take the wrestling seriously with all the half assed covers on this show. The lazy covers made no sense in Hyatt’s case, if you’re so hot to be Owens’ lackey, then pin the guy. Based on his debut, Kastle is going nowhere. That match was almost unwatchable, and what exactly was the point of Roswell coming to ringside? The Hollis match was OK. He beat a big bad ass, which was good, and his offense is looking crisper. Posey and Boyce had a decent match. The finish was strange. It wasn’t like Posey was having problems with Johnson during the match. Apparently, Posey has a very low tolerance for referees other than himself. I liked the Tiger match. I’m constantly amazed by how over he is with those fans. Popular appeared to be the best of the newcomers. The best thing about the main event was the vibe in the building. Match wasn’t bad. There just wasn’t much to it. The first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes held my interest. Some of the stuff in between was pretty dull. NWA ME needs more stories and character development to compensate for the lack of good wrestling. The crowd is one of the best things about the show. When they pack the place like they have the last two weeks, the room at 413 Veritas has a nice energy that comes across well on TV. Except for the crappy sound in the opening segment, the production was better this week. The camera switches were smoother. The camera work was steadier. I like some of the artsy angles producer Andrew Becker is getting with the second camera, but the image is fuzzy compared to the hard cam.

LAST WEEK…Chad Hyatt got on his knees to beg Will Owens to give him one more chance.

Aaron Camaro in ring inform us that his broadcast partner, “The Captain” Tyler Clemmons went into the locker room of Will Owens and hadn’t been seen since.

(1) Corey Hollis beat Jay Popular in
6:07. Popular gave (misspelled on the graphic as Hollus) a beating. Hollis tried for Dusk Til Dawn, but Popular countered with a short arm clothesline. Popular covered and pulled Hollus up at two. Popular tried to dump him out, but Hollis surprised Popular with a slingshot huracanrana. Hollis with a barrage of strikes. Hollis hit an STO for a near fall. Popular cut him off with a hotshot. Hollis sold it huge. Popular moved in for the kill. Hollis escaped and hit the Pele, then came off the top with a kick to the face for the pin.

Camaro made the big announcement concerning the vacated NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Championship. The new champion would be decided in a match between the people’s choice and the winner of a battle royal to be held next week. If the winner of the popular vote happened to win the battle royal, he would immediately become the champion.

(2) Steven Green beat
Chad Hyatt in 7:15.
Hyatt got the “Barney” chant. Little Steven was no match for Hyatt’s size and blubber. Hyatt was kicking the hell out of him, too, and Green was on rubber legs. Hyatt made carefully set Green up at just the right distance for his leg drop off the ropes. So unlike last week, Green had to move to make him miss. Green went up for swanton bomb, and the only thing that made contact with Hyatt was his hair. Camaro had to sell that Green got a piece of him. Ridiculous finish.

Owens took Green’s head off with a lariat. He got on Hyatt’s case for losing (again!) and showed him how it was done by demolishing Green, pausing to smack Hyatt across the face a few times. Hyatt was pleading for another chance. Academy award level it was not but it did have great heat. Fans were irate about the abuse being taken by their boy, Steven. Owens supervised as Hyatt gave Green a sidewalk slam.

(3) Will Owens beat White Tiger in
10:40 after distraction by Hyatt.
Tiger pulled the ref by his ear to demonstrate how Owens was using the mask to gain an unfair advantage. Funny spot. Tiger worked over the arm. Owens took over after a Tiger miss sent him into the post. Owens focused on Tiger’s gut with a couple of lazy covers along the way. A lengthy grounded chinlock ensued. Tiger fed of the crowd. Midring collision and both men down. Big flurry from “Mr. Paws & Claws” and Tiger Pounce! Owens got a shoulder up. Hyatt appeared on the apron. Tiger nailed him. We’ll have to Camaro’s word for it because the cameraman missed it. Owens pulled a foreign object from his tights and clocked Tiger for the three.

Owens wouldn’t let up on Tiger. Tommy Mercer (in street clothes) made the save.

Backstage promo by Jeremiah Flynt. Said that pipsqueak Hollis robbed him last week, and he was back for retribution.

(4) Matt Boyce & Kaleb Kastle beat Mike Posey & Blake Roswell in
12:09. Camaro said there might be a match between Mercer and Owens after this but he wasn’t sure. “I don’t know what’s going on around here.” The faces dominated the first 6 minutes. Posey was avoiding Boyce like H1N1. Roswell got Kastle’s attention, allowing Posey to dropkick him from behind. Kastle took heat. Camaro said Kastle was trained by Rodney Mack and Jazz. Not an endorsement of their training techniques. Kastle stunned Posey with a jawbreaker, and Boyce finally got his hands on him. It broke down four ways. Roswell dumped Boyce off the top rope. Posey went up top for a double team, but Boyce caught Roswell
with an O’Connor roll, crotching Posey in the process. Nice finish.

Returning from Bailey’s Wrecker Service to find Boyce alone in the ring. He said Posey had run for their last time. Boyce told “the NWA, whoever makes the matches around here” that he wanted Posey in a “non-sanctioned brawl” next week. Posey jumped Boyce from behind and laid him out with a belt shot.

THOUGHTS: Not good, but it was the best of three for the new season. Better matches. There was more selectivity as to the talent allowed to appear on television. Might have been dumb luck for all I know, but it was definitely an improvement. The random bad matches were eliminated. They tried to tell stories. Too bad the logic didn’t hold up. Case in point, the main angle. Last week, Posey had the champion pinned, albeit illegally, and clocked the ref out of frustration. Not a choice premise for a non-sanctioned brawl. Posey didn’t in any way come across like a guy shying away from physicality. It was strange hearing Boyce to ask the NWA for a non-sanctioned match. I didn’t mind Tiger losing the way he did. No shame in following the footsteps of Boogie and Rapada. I liked Mercer being positioned as the great babyface hope, but Camaro needed to follow up more on commentary. Being in with Boyce totally exposed that
Roswell was no 6-2 and 250. Kastle as a babyface in Nashville
? I just don’t see that working. If they did a legit fan vote, Tiger is a lock to be in the Mid-America Heavyweight Title match vs. the winner of the battle royal. The finishes were good, minus the ludicrous finish of Hyatt/Owens - the epitome of wrestlers lacking the experience and training to improvise. Why would Hyatt stay down for a move that made zero contact? The ultra short promos like they did with Flynt feel perfunctory. Why should the viewers care? Hollis is being booked strong, and he’s coming through with good matches. The good news is the babyfaces – Hollis, Tiger and Boyce – are all really over with the fans. The old time crowd reactions continue to be one of the best things about this show. Camaro did an admirable job on solo commentary. I guess he’s trying to get across the anything-can-happen nature of the show, a controlled chaos, but I suspect the reality is just the garden variety chaos of indie wrestling. Production was improved. Gone were the audio problems. The matches were shot with hard cam only, and I have to agree with TVD, the show was easier to watch without the “artsy” angles. Thumbs not as far down as the first two weeks.

The Hensley Report: 11/7 Ultimate NWA Results--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Last show saw Adam Roberts work his way through Will Owens' personally chosen gauntlet to earn a title shot. Patrick Bentley called in sick last week, leaving Adam Jacobs to find a partner to defend the tag team titles with. Corey Hollis suffered a tough loss to Rick Young but may have suffered a worse loss: the trust and respect of Adam Jacobs, Chrisjen Hayme and Adam Roberts as Will Owens continues to entice Corey to join him.  Ultimate NWA and 90 fans returned to the national guard armory at 406 S. Cedar Hill Dr in Scottsboro, AL for an exciting night of title matches and action. Adam Roberts came out and said that tonight things would change and no one would stand in his way, which brought out Corey Hollis. Hollis tried to explain that he had Pele'd Adam Roberts on accident. Adam Jacobs was out next to confront Hollis about interfering in his tag match last week. Hollis tries to apologize to both of them. Jacobs says he's sick of excuses and calls out his tag team partner Patrick Bentley. Bentley comes out and says he's sick. Jacobs tells him that's too bad because they'll be defending the titles in the main event BUT before that happens, he wants to go one on one TONIGHT. Will Owens comes out with his Ultimate NWA Heavyweight title as well as the NWA Mid America title. He stirs the pot of trouble as usual, telling Corey that they don't care about him and that he doesn't owe them apologies, they owe HIM an apology for holding him back. Jacobs and Roberts state they’ve both worked for major promotions and they refuse to apologize for paving the way for young guys like Hollis. Bentley and Owens head to the back as Hollis, Roberts, and Jacobs argue.  1) Amos Moses d. Matt Fortune with a sitout full nelson slam in 15:12The cocky Fortune comes out and threatens to leave if fans don't stop cheering for Moses. Fortune finally gets in the ring and then puts in a mouthpiece to protect his teeth, something he says Moses knows nothing about. Moses slugs Fortune and knocks the mouthpiece right out of his mouth. He follows it up with a thundering clothesline and huge back body drop onto Fortune, before clotheslining Fortune over the top rope. Back in the ring Fortune claims that his hair is being pulled to referee Kent Reznor, Will Owens' hand-picked referee for the evening. Moses has had enough of the lies so he gets his money's worth by jerking Fortune down by the hair and even telling Reznor he really did that time. Fortune gouges the eyes of Moses to regain control. Fortune charges Moses and clotheslines him into the corner, sliding through the ropes as he does it. Fortune goes up top and hits a quick Flying Squirrel. Moses throws him off at a two count. Fortune chopblocks the knee of Moses and begins to go to work on it, while mocking Moses. Fortune attempts to Irish whip Moses to the opposing corner and Moses falls down in pain. Fortune attempts a figure four but Moses rolls him up for two. Fortune goes right back to the knee. Moses fights back with a big arm that knocks Fortune against the ropes. Fortune hits a low dropkick to the knee of Moses but gives Moses too much time to recover and hit a clothesline, followed by a splash in the corner. Moses and Fortune charge each other and hit heads. Fortune recovers and climbs to the top for a moonsault that misses. Moses hits the full nelson sitout slam for the win. 2) Corey Hollis d. Rick Young in 11:43 by ‘rana rollup Young got the better of Hollis back on Oct 24th. Hollis wasn't going to let it happen again. Hollis charges the ring and some insanely stiff brawling begins. These guys are both heavy strikers and they beat the living daylights out of each other in this matchup of the speed of Hollis vs the strength of the much larger Young. Young gains an advantage and hits Hollis with an overhead T-Bone slam. Young hits a vicious combo of kicks, leg drops, and a jumping knee to Hollis. Corey Hollis attempts to regain momentum with a running trip pin but Young powers out and regains control with a big running standing takeover. Corey Hollis flips out of a suplex attempt and lands an enziguri kick. Young powers back to put Hollis in the corner on the turnbuckle and hit his own enziguri. Young washes the face of Hollis with his boot before running and hitting him with a big facewash in the corner. Hollis hits the tilt-a-whirl headscissors into a crossface but Young stands up with it and samoan drops Hollis back. Young hits a big suplex and puts Hollis back on the turnbuckle. Hollis tries to hit a tornado DDT but Young throws him off. Hollis ducks a clothesline and nails Young with the Pele kick. Hollis follows it up with a springboard forearm and attempts a crossbody off the top that staggers Young to a seated position but Young holds on to Hollis and actually gets up with him from the seated position! He hits two backbreakers and then a fallaway slam. Young tries to powerbomb Hollis but Hollis 'ranas him into a pin for the win!  Intermission - it's announced that Ultimate NWA will return to Scottsboro on Nov 21. 3) Will Owens d. Adam Roberts in 17:06 after Corey Hollis hit Roberts with a steel chair. The odds were stacked against Roberts in this match and there was no hiding it. Referee Kent Reznor was handpicked by Owens and showed favoritism the whole match, including not even checking Owens’ tights before the bell. Owens started the match with his usual cowardly stall tactics, running away from Roberts and cowering in the ropes when Roberts would approach. Reznor was keeping Roberts back until Roberts charged the corner and just went right through him to attack Owens. Roberts gains the advantage but the ref actually pulls him off of Owens. Owens takes control and attacks Roberts with a flurry of a offense. Roberts fights back with a big hiptoss and Owens rolls to the outside to recover. Roberts grabs Reznor by the shirt and Owens looks like a kid in a candy store as the fans chant “HIT THE REF!” Owens grabs the mic and says “PLEASE HIT THE REF!” just hoping that already crooked referee Kent Reznor could officially disqualify Roberts. Roberts thinks better of it and Owens comes back in the ring. Owens is slung into Reznor and Roberts attempts to piledrive Owens but Owens backbody drops Roberts to the outside and follows it up with a series of punches and choking. They move back into the ring and Owens locks Roberts in a rest hold around the neck to wear him down. Roberts reaches the ropes three times and Reznor nonchalantly moves Roberts off the ropes all three times. Owens slings Roberts down and goes back to work with a hold around the head. Owens uses the ropes and this match continues to be one of the most unfairly officiated contests in the history of Ultimate NWA. The crowd gets behind Adam Roberts and he stages a comeback, slamming Roberts down, hitting an elbow, and then going up top for big elbow that finds its mark. Reznor gives it a slow 2 count. Roberts is furious. He hits the main event slam on Owens and Reznor once again gives it a slow count. Corey Hollis has seen enough and comes out with a chair. Roberts pushes Owens into the ropes for an O’Connor roll and Hollis swings the chair at Owens, who ducks it. Hollis nails Roberts and Owens covers for the win as Reznor gives a quick count and Hollis looks on in disbelief at what he has done. Roberts is out. Referee Nick Stevens and the ring announcer attempt to revive him and slowly roll him out of the ring. 4) Adam Jacobs and Patrick Bentley is declared a no contest after 7:33 when the referee was knocked out of the ring and lost complete control of the match. These tag team partners truly have a bitter rivalry. Bentley came to the ring still doing the “sick” thing. He soon dropped the act and attacked Jacobs. Jacobs wasn’t having it though and mounted his own offense. Bentley pushes Jacobs into the corner and Jacobs goes up with his feet to the shoulders of Bentley. Bentley throws them off to the outside but Jacobs swings back in, landing them on the shoulders of Bentley again and swinging him down by the head on the inside of the ring. Jacobs chases Bentley, who has rolled out. Bentley catches Jacobs on the ring apron with a knee that leaves him hanging out to dry on the middle rope. Bentley lands a leg drop from the middle turnbuckle onto the hanging Jacobs. Jacobs battles back and traps Bentley in a widow’s peak type standing submission hold. Adam Jacobs hits a rolling neckbreaker and attempts a suplex but Bentley is able to bridge down to his feet and hit a falling neckbreaker. Bentley covers and everyone’s favorite referee Kent Reznor does a fast count for two. Bentley hits a Canadian destroyer for another quick count for two. Bentley puts Jacobs on the turnbuckle and attempts to climb it. Jacobs sunset flips over him, slamming Bentley hard to the mat. Jacobs and Bentley begin to slug it out and Reznor gets between them. They both nail Reznor and he falls to the outside. The bell is called for and Reznor just walks to the back holding his head. Jacobs and Bentley are still at each others’ throats when they’re reminded by the ring announcer that after a short intermission they will be defending their titles in the main event. It is announced that at the end of the intermission a major announcement would be made regarding next show. Adam Roberts comes out and thanks a loyal fan, Jason, who has just had a birthday. Roberts puts the ring announcer on the spot and tells him to sing Happy Birthday to Jason. A fan tells the announcer that Roberts just had a birthday so he puts Roberts on the spot and everyone sings Happy Birthday to him. Roberts says that a fan has been sending him Michael Jackson songs for the last week and he wanted to give her a chance to sing some Michael Jackson. “Billie Jean” plays and no one wants to sing. Roberts chases the armory guys down and they run from him. It is announced that Nov 21st will have Adam Roberts vs Kent “The Bad Ref” Reznor! 5) Adam Jacobs & Patrick Bentley d. Ben Thrasher & Rick Young in 8:23 when Jacobs hits Young with a Flatliner and Bentley tags in to steal the pin. Jacobs and Bentley had an intense stare down and shoving match until their opponents came to the ring. Thrasher and Young towered over everyone in the ring and were just downright intimidating. Young and Thrasher both start in the ring, Bentley bails and Jacobs ducks a double clothesline attempt. And smacks Bentley into the match. Bentley stalls around the ring and is able to apply a wristlock to Ben Thrasher. Bentley twists the massive arm of Thrasher and slaps Jacobs to tag him in. Jacobs climbs the turnbuckle and doublestomps the arm of Thrasher. Jacobs hits the ropes and is met with a thundering sitout spinebuster. Tag to Rick Young who hits a suplex and slams Jacobs down hard. Tag to Thrasher who takes a page out of Jacobs’ book with a swinging neckbreaker. Thrasher holds Jacobs down with a rest hold but Jacobs battles back and hits the ropes. Thrasher answers it this time with a boot that just absolutely killed Jacobs. Tag back in to Young. He and Thrasher attempt to do a backbody drop to Jacobs that probably could have put him ten feet in the air. Jacobs holds on though and swings it back for a double DDT that sends Thrasher to the floor. Jacobs climbs the turnbuckle and hits a flatliner onto Young off the middle turnbuckle. Bentley runs over and tags in to steal the pin from Jacobs. Young and Thrasher head to the back as Jacobs and Bentley throw their tag straps down and begin to brawl once again. Corey Hollis runs in and attacks Patrick Bentley in an effort to prove his allegiance to Jacobs. Rick Young runs back in to attack Corey Hollis. Ben Thrasher and Will Owens run out to severely disadvantage Jacobs and Hollis. Adam Roberts hits the ring like a freight train and cleans house better than Martha Stewart. The final three left in the ring are Roberts, Jacobs, and Hollis. Roberts grabs Hollis and puts him on his shoulders for the Main Event Slam. Jacobs doesn’t want him to do it but Roberts slams him off as Owens and friends look on. Roberts grabs the mic and sarcastically says Owens wanted him to give Corey an apology earlier so “Sorry Corey!” Notes: Ultimate NWA returns to Scottsboro, AL on Nov 21st. Adam Roberts vs Kent Reznor is already signed. I imagine we’ll see some type of confrontation between Corey Hollis and Rick Young, as well as Patrick Bentley and Adam Jacobs. They are also set to run on Dec 12th. Rumor has it that some Ultimate NWA talent may be working at the TNA show in Nashville at the Wildhorse Saloon on Monday November 9th. Impressive newcomers to Ultimate NWA Matt Fortune and Ben Thrasher will be appearing soon for NWA Main Event in Nashville. Amos Moses has a cool new entrance video and continues to be one of the most loved wrestlers at Ultimate NWA.
