Pro Wrestler Makes Official Comment about NWA Event Incident

(Tampa, Fl.) - Sunday, August 8th, 2010 was the day, NWA North American Champion, The Sheik decided to make a point.

It took place in the hotbed of Pro Wrestling, Charlotte, NC in front of fans and legends of Pro Wrestling alike at the NWA Fanfest.

He's tired of being disrespected by the NWA and tired of being denied a match with the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

He made that point, the only way he knows how; in a violent fashion!

Through an Interpreter, The Sheik had this to say about his actions:

"Adam Pearce paid the price, but the true culprits are those infidels, Bob Trobich and the NWA Board of Directors. They are the cause of the knot on the head of Adam Pearce.

They are the reason the Middle Eastern Madman has taken matters into his own, blood thirsty, hands.

For over a year The Sheik has been denied his destiny. A denial that started when The Blue Demon refused the Sheik a title match, claiming he wasn't worthy. Sheik's response was to conquer Florida, The Midwest, and ultimately the North American Continent itself, but still he is denied.

Next, the NWA holds a "Future Legends" tournament and invites many top contenders including the National Heavyweight Champion, Phil Shatter, but where is The Sheik?

Why is The North American Champion denied? Why is the most dominant and feared man in the NWA, again, insulted? The truth is clear.

The NWA Board of Directors is protecting its World Heavyweight Champion and in doing so, keeping the title out of the reach of The Sheik.

NO MORE! The NWA and it's World Champion must answer to The Sheik now. Pearce will force The NWA Board of Directors to make the match, and by doing so, will seal his own fate. The Sheik WILL destroy Adam Pearce. The Sheik WILL become NWA World Heavyweight Champion. The Sheik WILL realize his destiny and Rule the Wrestling World!"

The NWA Board of Directors declined to comment at this time on these statements but one thing that is for sure is not whether it will happen BUT when it will happen.

NWA ON FIRE

http://www.nwaonfire.com/

During the golden age of wrestling Camden NJ was a hot bed of action.  Both Convention Halls had turn away

events featuring the greatest of the game.  Throughout his luxurious career  Nature Boy Buddy Rogers proudly proclaimed the city as his home town.  Over the years father time took it's toll on the city and wrestling slowly traveled across the river to nearby Philadelphia.

On Sunday evening September 12th 2010 that all changes.  One this day NWA Vintage makes it's debut in the

beautiful Millennium Skate Center at 1900 Carmen Street.

Bell time is 7:30 pm!

Two matches already signed for this event

First will pit Sami Callihan against Sabian

NWA DAWG champion Chance Prophet will

NWA Anarchy Results for August 7

« Thread Started Yesterday at 6:04pm »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NWA Anarchy results from the NWA Arena in Cornelia, Ga with attendance of 80-100.

1) Andrew Alexander def Lane Vasser with the Rodeo Driver

2) Billy Buck def Chris Mayne with the superkick.

-Jeff G. Bailey came out with Talent & Money to announce officially that they were his newest signing to the legendary NWA Elite. He stated the NWA Elite is the launching pad for greatness in pro wrestling noting that the #1 wrestler in the PWI 500, , the last TNA PPV main event WWE's Summerslam main event featured or will feature a member of the NWA Elite and that Talent & Money were the next in that line of greatness. Bailey went on to state that J.T. Talent was back from a career threatening back injury at the hands of the New Wave, and the attack on Driver & Walters at Hostile Environment by Talent & Money was retaliation for that and if New Wave bothered showing their faces again, Talent & Money would end both their wrestling careers.

3) Andrew Pendleton III w/ Jeff G. Bailey & JT Talent defeated Jacob Ashworth by pinfall.

- "The Rev" Dan Wilson led the Hate Junkies (Dany Only & Stryknyne) to ringside and stated that even though they defeated the best tag team in the sport, The New Wave "clean in the middle" at Hostile Environment, their celebration was cut short because the "Puke Gone Mild" Anthony Henry & Dustin Knight had the audacity to stick their nose in Hate Junkies business, and since they were forced to beat them up so bad, and hit them so hard, Dany Only broke his own arm and would be out of action for 4-6 weeks. He vowed that the Hate Junkies would make Youth Gone Wild pay.

4) Stryknyne (w/ Rev. Dan Wilson & Dany Only) def. Dustin Knight w/ Young Lions Champion Anthony Henry after Only clocked Knight with his cast while referee Dee Byers was distracted by a tussle with Wilson & Henry.

- John Johnson conducted an interview with winning War Games team members Don Matthews & Shadow Jackson that was interrupted by NWA Anarchy Tag Team Champions Skirra Corvus and Orion Bishop w/ Enoch Tsarion. This turned into a pull apart brawl and ended up as an impromptu tag team title match.

5) Skirra Corvus & Orion Bishop w/ Enoch Tsarion vs. Shadow Jackson and Don Matthews went to a no contest when the referee couldn't get control of the match. In the ensuing brawl, the champions duct taped Jackson to the ropes and dismantled Matthews by having Skirra Corvus deliver a top rope double stomp to his head while Bishop held a chair in place. No word on the serious nature of Matthews injuries, but in a wild scene fans in the crowd actually pulled out pocket knives to cut their hero Jackson free.

- 2nd Half -

- Cid Istic introduced NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Mikal Judas and stated that Tank's challenge of the champion after War Games was the worst mistake of his life.

6) Mikal Judas defeated Dustin Tarr by pinfall after El Crucifeo

The protege of Wildside alumnists and current ROH stars Mark & Jay Briscoe had his work cut out for him here. What little offense he managed was extremely intense, but it just wasn't enough to deal with the rage of the 6'8" Anarchy Heavyweight Champion. After the match Tarr lay in the ring unconscious for several minutes and had to be carried out by security.

7) Anthony Henry defeated Aden Chambers via pinfall after a frog splash to retain the NWA Anarchy Young Lions Championship in an excellent match and a big victory for Henry defeating a former Super 8 winner and man ranked #308 in the 2010 PWI 500.

- John "The Body" Johnson conducted an interview with Billy Buck and Brodie Ray Chase stating he was there on behalf of his personal friend TV Champion Seth Delay. The interview addressed the controversy of the TV Title match from Hostile Environment where Chase, the guest referee accidentally knocked Buck out while trying to hit Delay with the brass knuckles Delay introduced to the match. Johnson berated chase, while Buck tried to explain that he wasn't happy with the outcome but didn't blame Chase as he knew it was an accident. Johnson ended up slapping Buck, and when Buck had enough and attempted to deck Johnson with his superkick, Johnson ducked and he hit Chase instead. Buck showed his frustration as Johnson got out of dodge.

8) Slim J defeated Shaun Tempers by DQ in an awesome near 20 minute main event when J had Tempers locked in the Roach Clip and Bo Newsome attacked J. Tempers slithered away with a telling smirk as Newsome left his former mentor lying.

NWA LEGENDS SHOW REPORT 8-7-10 by Mike Johnson

NWA Future Legends Tournament Semi-Final: Caprice Coleman vs. Davey Richards

Ryan O'Reilly was Coleman's originally scheduled opponent but isn't here due to signing a WWE developmental deal, so Richards was "voted into" the match by the NWA Board of Directors. They locked up and Richards forced Coleman against the ropes but broke clean. They locked up again, this time with Coleman forcing Richards against the ropes. When Coleman broke clean, Richards slapped him in the face. They ended up in the ropes again, but this time Coleman ducked the slap and hit one of his own. Richards rolled out to the floor to break the momentum.

Back in the ring, Richards took Coleman down and cinched in a side chinlock. Coleman fought his way to his feet and reversed it into an armbar. Richards tried to maneuver his way out but was caught in a Fireman's Carry with Coleman holding onto the armbar. Richards escaped and shoulderblocked Coleman down. Coleman came back with a series of armdrags that sent Richards walking all the way back to the locker room while recovering.

Richards returned to the ring and began beating Coleman with several stiff kicks but was caught with a reverse elbow while rebounding off the ropes. Coleman and Richards had a great back and forth exchange on the mat. Richards locked him in a leg submission but was caught with a forward cradle for a two count. Coleman shot in for a single leg takdown but Richards began mounting him with punches. They battled back and forth with stiff shots and chops. Richards ended up on the apron and was run into the buckles. He ducked a charge and pulled the ropes down, sending Coleman over the top to the floor. From the apron, he drilled Coleman with a monstrously stiff kick.

Back in the ring, Richards killed Coleman with several more stiff kicks, then scissored his neck and shoulders with Richards' legs, trying to force a submission. Coleman finally made his way to the ropes to force the break. Richards maintained the control and nailed a diving head butt off the top rope for a two count. The fans chanted, "That was three." Richards drilled Coleman with a kick to the back. Coleman began mounting a comeback but was caught with a roundhouse kick to the mid-section. Richards slammed him down and went to the middle turnnbuckle. Coleman caught him with a shoulderblock.

They battled in the corner with Richards on the ropes. Coleman chopped away at Richards before hitting a leaping rana out of the corner. The referee nearly counted both men out but they made it to their feet. They chopped and struck away at each other. Richards drilled a hard kick to the chest but Coleman came back with a dropkick that sent Richards to the floor. Coleman then hit a running tope con hilo over the top to the floor.

Back in the ring, Coleman hit a springboard splash for a two count. They battled back and forth in the center of the ring. It broke down into a series of strikes with Richards beating Coleman down. Richards went to leapfrog over Coleman but was caught in a package piledriver type slam for a two count. That was great. The referee began counting both men down on the mat but Coleman got to his feet at six. Coleman placed Richards on the top rope but was fought off. Richards drilled him with a missile dropkick.

Richards stalked over Coleman and pulled him up for a German suplex. Coleman used a series of elbows to fight him off but was kicked in the face. Richards finally hit the suplex with a bridge for a two count. Richards went for the Indian Death Lock and caught Coleman in the center. Coleman made it to the ropes. Coleman whipped Richards into the corner but Richards movedand caught Richards with a kick to the guts. He grabbed him into a tombstone type maneuver and spiked him for the pin in 17 minutes. Great opener!

NWA Future Legends Cup Semi-Final: Chase Stevens vs. Phill Shatter.

Stevens of TNA Naturals and Showtime All-Star Wrestling fame played heel, getting in the face of several fans around ringside.  He brought a chair with him to the ring.  Shatter is Gunner the security guard from TNA.  He's playing babyface here and is well known on the local scene.  Stevens did some stalling to get heat early.  He shoulderblocked Shatter down and played to the crowd.  They locked up again but when Shatter got the better of Stevens, he played Larry Zbyszko and began stalking the outside, nearly getting counted out in the process.

Back in the ring, Shatter caught Stevens with a sideheadlock.  He was shoved off into the ropes and shoulderblocked Stevens down, then drilled him with a right hand.  Stevens was again on the floor.  They went back and forth in the ring before both ending up on the floor.  They were nearly counted out.  Back in the ring, Stevens kicked off a Shatter charge.   Stevens worked over Shatter as the fans chanted for Shatter to make a comeback.  Shatter mounted a comeback with a series of elbows.  They went back and forth with punches.

Stevens locked on a sleeper but Shatter fought his way back to his feet.  Stevens kicked him low to maintain the control.    Shatter mounted a comeback and nailed Stevens with a series of punches in the corner but was soon taken back down to the mat with a side chinlock.   Stevens mounted yet another comeback but was cut off with a series of right hands.  He kept working over Shatter, who made his way to his feet by "sheer will."  He began mounting a series of right hands, then clotheslined and slammed Stevens.  Stevens kicked off a Shatter charge in the corner but Shatter nailed him with a powerslam as Stevens charged him, getting a two count.

Shatter whipped Stevens into the ropes and caught him with a spinebuster for a two count.  Shatter argued the count with the referee.    Stevens nailed Shatter with the lungblower for a two count.  He nailed a frog splash off the top rope for another two count.  He kept working over Shatter and shoved the referee into the corner when the ref tried to stop him.  Stevens backdropped Shatter over the top but the referee didn't see it.  Stevens and Shatter were both counted out.

Legendary referee Tommy Young came out and ordered the match restarted.  The place popped for Tommy.

Stevens caught Shatter with another lungblower but Shatter kicked out.  Stevens grabbed a chair and hit the referee.  Young hit the ring again to check on the ref.  Stevens went to drill Shatter with it but missed.  Shatter nailed his finisher and Young counted the pin.

Your winner, Phill Shatter!

It's Shatter vs. Richards later tonight.

Kamala with General Skandar Akbar vs. Manscout Jake Manning

Manning has been seen on ROH on HDNet and plays, well, a heel boyscout.  He's actually an Eagle Scout in real life, which is where the idea for the gimmick came from.  Akbar took the mic and said he doesn't care about the United States and he doesn't care about boy scouts.  He told Manning he was going to be taught the difference between Men and Boys tonight when he takes an asskicking.  Manning went after Kamala but the second Kamala reared away for a chop, Manning ran off.

Kamala picked up Manning's Boy Scout Handbook, then read it.  He threw it down and slapped his belly.  Manning kicked him and cinched in a sideheadlock.  Kamala pushed him off and chopped him down.  He whipped Manning into the corner but Manning evaded a splash.  He didn't evade a second, was splashed and pinned in 2:38.

Your winner, Kamala!

"The Queen City Killer" Zack Salvation vs. Mike Jackson

Jackson is the longtime Alabama Junior Heavyweight champion who made himself something of a cult star at the convention with his awesome performances in the past.  Salvation is a heel from the NC independent scene.  The fans were chanting, "Let's go Mike" before the bell even rang.  Salvation got in his face jawjacking immediately.  He shoved Jackson, who refused to back down.  They locked up but neither man gained an advantage.

Salvation backed Jackson into the corner but backed off.  They locked up again and Salvation began working over Jackson's arm.  Jackson reversed it but was kicked in the gut as he rebounded off the ropes.  Jackson backdropped Salvation to the floor, then hit a tope through the ropes, his annual spot, only this time, Salvation caught him and slammed him down, then slammed Jackson into the apron.  Salvation went for a springboard move but Jackson pulled him to the floor, went to the top rope and dove down to the floor on Salvation.  Fans began chanting. "You still got it."

Jackson tossed Salvation back in the ring but was kicked as he re-entered.  Salvation worked him over.  Jackson ducked a clothesline and nailed twisting head scissors before armdragging Salvation and cinching in an armbar.  Salvation caught Jackson trying to kick him, then spun him around in the corner and drilled him with several kicks.  Jackson used to the ropes to his advantage to kick Salvation in the mush, then locked in another hiptoss and armdrag combination.

Salvation came back with a running boot to the face in the corner.  He whipped Jackson into the corner but Jackson reversed and nailed an uppercut.  He nailed a series of armdrags.  Jackson controlled Salvation with an armbar.  Salvation tried to escape but kept ending up trapped in the end.  He finally slammed Jackson down.  Jackson came back with a one-armed DDT.  Jackson locked up Salvation's arm and did his other annual spot, walking the ropes a la the Undertaker's Old School while doing the Fargo Strut, but again Salvation foiled his plans and slammed him into the ring for a two count.  Salvation cinched in a side chinlock.  Jackson mounted a comeback but was nailed with an over the knee backbreaker.

Salvation locked Jackson in a front facelock and began drilling him with knees to the head.  He scissored Jackson with his legs.  Jackson fought his way to his feet but was maneuvered into the corner, where Salvation slapped him several times.  He continued to bully Jackson around.  He went up and over in the corner to avoid a Jackson charge then caught the veteran with a double leg takedown.  Salvation mounted him with a series of rights.  The crowd began chanting "Let's go Mike."

Salvation placed Jackson on the top rope for a superplex but Jackson fought him off.  Jackson got the better of Salvation, then did the rope walk spot, coming off with a big shot to Salvation's shoulder.  He went for a Hangman's neckbreaker but Salvation reversed it into a Fireman's Carry.  Jackson rolled forward for a two count.  Salvation shocked Jackson with a move I didn't catch, possibly a brainbuster and scored the pin.

Your winner, Zach Salvation.

Really strong old school match.  Jackson usually goes over at these shows, so using him to get someone else over was an interesting twist.  Salvation raised Jackson's arm after the match.  Fans chanted "You still got it" at Jackson and gave him a nice ovation on the way out.

Future Legends Cup Final: Davey Richards vs. Phill Shatter

Fans did the dueling chants to open the match.  I thought I was going to Orlando tomorrow?

They tried to test each other with shoulderblocks at the onset.  Richards used a series of kicks but was pressed and dropped by Shatter.  Shatter shoulderblocked him into the corner a number of times, then whipped Richards into the opposite corner for a splash and a near fall.  Richards ended up on the apron and faked a shoulderblock to grab Shatter's leg and nail a Dragon Screw legwhip.  Richards controlled him on the mat and cinched in a reverse Indian Death Lock.  Shatter struggled for the ropes and finally made them to force a break.

Richards continued to control the match as Shatter struggled to battle back.  He made it to his feet but Richards soon took out his legs again.  Richards went for a Figure Four Leglock but when everyone Woo'd, he blew off the move and the fans.  Shatter came back with a series of chops, so the fans all woo'd for him instead.  Richards cut him off with a kick and worked him over in the corner with a series of strikes. He began kicking and dropkicking Shatter's hamstring.

Richards locked on a single leg Boston Crab but Shatter grabbed the ropes.  Shatter began nailing Richards, who came back with kicks to Shatters legs.  As they went back and forth, the dueling chants returned.  Each man retreated to a corner to get their wits about them.  Richards charged Shatter but was kicked off.  Shatter nailed him with a spinebuster for a two count.  Shatter whipped Richards into the corner.  Richards tried to go up and over but was caught and slammed for another two count.

Shatter went for a powerbomb but Davey escaped.  Davey then suplexed himself and Shatter over the top rope to the floor.  Both men were nearly counted out but returned to the ring at the last second.  They exchanged punches on their knees then on their feet.  They began slugging it back and forth for a long time, which the crowd loved.   Richards finally began drilling him over and over ujntil Shatter was down on the mat.  Richards hit the ropes but was caught with a spear for a two count.

Richards came back with a missle dropkick, then a charging, clubbing blow in the corner.  He nailed a German suplex with a bridge for a two count.  He placed Shatter on the top rope but Shatter fought him off.  Richards battled back and scored with a suplerplex off the top rope.  Richards locked in the ankle lock but Shatter pulled himself to the ropes.  Shatter came back with a huge clothesline, which Richards took a sick bump off.  He covered Richards for a two count.

Shatter finally drilled Richards with a powerbomb and scored the pin in 24 minutes.

Tully Blanchard awarded Shatter the Cup. Richards showed respect to Shatter by bowing before him and shaking his hand.  I really loved the hell out of this, just a good back and forth match with lots of crazy spots and hard hitting shots and some nice submission as well. This was the best I've seen out of Shatter to date as well.

NWA champion Adam Pearce vs. Bryan Danielson

Danielson came out to Final Countdown. The ring announcer, a fan who won a silent auction, announced Bryan Danielson as "The Ultimate Dragon Bryan Pearce."  REALLY.  Pearce took the mic and told the fan he was a nitwit and to get the hell out of the ring.  The fan tried to stand up to Pearce but the referee made him leave the ring.  That was funny.  Fans began chanting "Ultimate Dragon" so Danielson shook the ropes and ran around the ring like Warrior.  NOW THAT WAS HILARIOUS!

Danielson offered a handshake at the bell.  Pearce took it.  Pearce forced Danielson into the ropes but broke clean.  Fans were chanting "Repo Man" and singing "Ole Ole."  Danielson forced Pearce to the ropes and we have another clean break.  They went into a knucklelock test of strength with Pearce forcing Danielson down onto the mat for several two counts.   Danielson  maneuvered him into a monkeyflip.

Pearce took Danielson down to the mat and began working his wrist and arm.  Danielson kicked him off and Pearce powdered out to the floor.   Back in the ring, Pearce took control with several shoulderblocks and a side headlock.  Danielson rolled him over for several near falls, then scissored Pearce with his legs.  Pearce made it to the ropes.  They continued to go back and forth.  Pearce drilled Danielson with a right hand off a clean break and took control with several punches and kicks.  Danielson nailed a sunset flip for a two count and they went into a series of near falls.  Danielson kept rolling Danielson around on the mat, confusing him and finally Pearce jumped out to the floor.

When Pearce returned, the crowd began chanting that he sucks.  Danielson took control with several kicks to the back.  He began tying up Pearce in submission holds and tried to roll him into a pinfall, getting several two counts.  Danielson began peppering him with uppercuts but was caught with a big sideslam.  Pearce began stomping Danielson and when the ref yelled at him, yelled, "I have until five" as a play on Bryan but it was lost on the crowd.  Pearce continued mauling Danielson, who came back with several punches and a swinging neckbreaker.

Pearce elbowed Danielson in the face and Danielson crumbled to the mat.  The fans began chanting for Dragon.  Danielson began mounting a comeback with punches to the mid-section and a knee to the gut.  Danielson began drilling him with forearms in the corner but ran into Pearce's knees when he charged.  Pearce began choking Danielson's throat across the top rope.  Pearce locked in his sitting abdominal stretch.  Fans rallied for Danielson to recover.  Danielson finally made it to his feet and hiptossed Pearce out of it.  He went after Pearce but was nailed with the Hot Shot.

Pearce cinched in a Camel Clutch.  The referee checked Danielson's arm but he fought out of it.  Pearce got caught trying to leap on Danielson's back, as Danielson turned over so Pearce crotched himself on Dragon's legs.  Dragon began working over Pearce and set him for a big back superplex off the ropes.  Danielson began beating the hell out of Pearce with strikes and hit a leaping forearm smash in the corner for a two count.

Danielson continued working over Pearce with headbutts but was caught in a sleeper.  Danielson fought his way out and reversed it.  Pearce bumped the referee escaping.  Danielson small packaged Pearce but the referee was hurt and Danielson only got a two count.  Danielson nailed a leaping leg lariat for a two count.  Danielson began raining down with elbows to the face.  He locked in a Cattle Mutiliation submission but Pearce finally made it to the center of the ring.

Pearce went to the outside so Danielson nailed him with a big knee off the apron.  He tossed Pearce back in and hit a missile dropkick.  Pearce tried to beg off but was hit with a leg lariat in the corner for a two count.  Danielson mounted several kicks to the chest but Pearce shocked him with a big lariat for a two count.  Pearce went to the top for a splash there was no water in the pool.    Danielson nailed a back suplex for a two count and then another cattle mutiliation.  Danielson couldn't get the submission and went for another move but was kicked low and hit with a piledriver.

Your winner and still NWA champion, Adam Pearce!

Another damn good match.  I think fans really thought Danielson was taking the belt, which is the mark of a good match.

The most recognized NWA wrestling event in Texas history

parades into Gainesville HS Gymnasium this Saturday night

The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Southwest in conjunction with the Cooke County Fair Association presents The Parade of Champions wrestling show on August 14, at the Gainesville High School gymnasium.  The event is a fundraiser to restore Fair Grounds buildings damaged by a severe storm last year with all proceeds benefiting restoration.

This is the biggest wrestling show of the year based anywhere in Texas, and it is the 10th volume of an Event that began 38 years ago at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas.

The main event on this Card is the NWA World Heavyweight championship with three-time champion Adam Pearce of San Diego defending his belt against former 8-year WWE superstar Charlie Haas of nearby Frisco, Texas.

Other big names appearing on the card include wrestling legends Doink The Clown (aka Matt Borne) and Baboose, former WWE diva Miss Jackie, Spoiler 2000, Ann Dromeda, Nobe Bryant, Chad Thomas, Andy Dalton,  Kevin Douglas, and Michael Faith.  Fans will be able to get autographs on souvenir programs during intermission and after the Show.

Matt Borne says Doink is retiring his famous green wig trademark on this show, and it will go to a fan who bids the highest with proceeds going to charity.  Borne said this will be his last appearance anywhere in the world as the original Doink character created by WWE 18 years ago.

Tickets are only $8 in advance and $10 at the door.  Advanced tickets can be purchased at Prosperity Bank in Gainesville, and also at Dennards in Whitesboro and Sherman.  Doors will open at 6 p.m. and Bell-time will be 7 p.m. sharp.

On Sunday evening September 12th 2010 that all changes.  One this day NWA Vintage makes it's debut in the

beautiful Millennium Skate Center at 1900 Carmen Street.

7/31 NWA Anarchy Hostile Environment Live Report

By Larry Goodman

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NWA Anarchy celebrated their 5th anniversary with Hostile Environment 2010 featuring the annual War Games match on a steamy Saturday night in Cornelia, Ga.

On the plus side, the show drew close to 200 people at $20 each, the largest gate for a major Anarchy show since Fright Night 2008 (Hardcore Hell ’09 drew a few more people but I believe tickets were $15). It was very hot crowd, reminiscent of Anarchy’s early days.

Phil Shatter vs. Ace Rockwell is sure to be in the running for Anarchy’s best match of 2010, as their match from Hardcore Hell ’09 was last year.

The undercard matches accomplished their respective missions. All were kept relatively short and there weren’t too many of them, so the crowd was still fresh and hot for the main events. Two babyfaces received major boosts in the process, and the tag team situation got a whole lot more interesting.

On the other side, the 2010 War Games was the weakest in its 10 year history –a match that managed to underperform despite very modest expectations.

Anarchy is a promotion facing major challenges going forward. Rockwell can now be added to the list of talent losses (see news & notes post) Anarchy has suffered in recent months, which also includes Kimo, Caprice Coleman and Jeremy Vain. The status of Mikal Judas and Phil Shatter (aka Gunner and Murphy) has to be considered a question mark given their recent change of fortunes at TNA. Efforts to elevate from within have yielded mix results. The existing talent pool just isn’t deep enough to counter the loss of so many top level stars. To further complicate matters, a good portion of the premier indie talent in Georgia is now at Rampage Pro Wrestling, which is running the same dates as Anarchy. Most that aren’t committed to RPW, are looking for a decent paying gigs, something Anarchy has never been known to be.

NWA Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer did a little pre-show preaching to fire up the crowd.

Ring announcer Michael Gentry introduced the NWA Anarchy announce team of Greg Hunter and John Johnson. A deluxe video by Kevin Marx played on the WrestleVision screen and the building was crackling with energy.

(1) Lane Vasser won an eleven man battle royal. The other participants roughly in order of elimination were BJ Hancock (worst name in wrestling), Ty Tyson, Andrew Alexander, the unidentified love child of Ace Rockwell and Hayden Young, Antwan Jordan, Dustin Knight, Jacob Ashworth, Aden Chambers, Aaron Lee and Bo Newsome. It was your typical nondescript battle royal. Newsome was the last guy in with Vasser, who did a rolling fireman’s carry slam into a moonsault. Newsome made the moonsault miss but was unable to capitalize, and Vasser basically powered him out of the ring. Crowd liked Vasser winning. In so far as a future babyface star, Vasser has the most upside of anyone on the local horizon due to his eye catching physique. At this stage, his movements look mechanical, but he can go places if can overcome that case of Lex Luger disease.

(2) Anthony Henry beat Andrews Pendleton III to win the NWA Anarchy Young Lion’s Championship in 7:13. Henry has added some cool moves to his repertoire. He hit a nice quebradora (tilt-a-whirl backbreaker) early. He also used a spinning inverted Gori Special. The heat spot was lousy – a sloppy lariat or some such. Henry showed good fire and explosiveness on his comeback, before Pendleton cut him off with a wheelbarrow facebuster for a near fall. Henry popped the crowd with a deftly applied Texas Cloverleaf. No submission, but shortly thereafter, Henry caught Pendleton with a bridging german suplex for the clean win. Crowd popped huge for it. Dustin Knight came out to raise Henry’s hand (Henry had earned a shot at the title of his choosing and chose the Young Lion’s Title to honor Knight, who recently returned from a career threatening neck injury). Henry is the best wrestler among the up-and-comers, and this match provided a clear boost in his stature with the Anarchy fans.

(3) Hate Junkies (Dany Only & Stryknyn with Reverend Dan Wilson) beat New Wave (Steven Walters & Derrick Driver) in 12:45 when Stryknyn pinned Driver. A totally fine tag match. It turned out to be the second best match behind Shatter/Rockwell. Wilson has completed his fashion transformation from the evil troll mastermind of Devil’s Rejects to the guiding force behind the equally vile Junkies with a killer Hank Williams Jr. hat. Crowd was quiet at the start, but a series of New Wave double teams culminating with a shot for Wilson really brought the crowd up. New Wave hit stereo topes. Walters shot through the ropes like a rocket and almost went right over the top of his intended target. Wilson pulled the ropes down to dump Walters. Junkies softened Walters up with gutter tactics, before cutting off his comeback with high impact moves. Driver decked Only with an elbow he never saw for an out-of-the-ordinary double down to set up the hot tag. Junkies had Drive set up for the superbomb, but he reversed into a super huracanrana, and Only had to make a save. Walters posted Only’s mangled shoulder. Only started screaming. New Wave went for the Unskinny Bop on Stryknyn, but Wilson hit Driver on top of the head with his cane. Really whacked him, too. The shot could be heard throughout the building.

Afterwards, Attorney Jeff G. Bailey came out to distract, allowing Talent & Money (with JT Talent making his first Anarchy appearance since March) to run in from the front door and beat the living hell out of New Wave. This was a glorious beatdown. Double team finishers for both New Wavers followed by triple chair shots to the back and more. An attempted rescue by Knight and Henry was cut off by Hate Junkies. New Wave vs. Talent & Money was an awesome feud the first time around, and the current vacuum of headline programs gives them an opportunity to take it to the top of card.

(4) Seth Delay beat Billy Buck to retain the NWA Anarchy Television Championship in 9:26. an entertaining story match. Wow. What a pop for Buck. There was a lot shenanigans with the paper Burger King hats and a massive “you suck and it’s all your fault!” chant directed at Delay. “King” Seth did not take kindly to being made fun of. Brody Chase was the special ref and he played his role to the hilt. He found Delay’s hiding place for the brass knucks and turned them over to security. He placed the title belt at the time keeper’s table for safe keeping. Delay was panic stricken. He tried to run, but Chase dragged him back into the ring with a little ass exposal in the process. A top rope double stomp to the back of a doubled over Buck turned the match in Delay’s favor. Buck sold his ass off in between fiery hope spots. A missed top rope elbow led to the full blown straps down comeback. Delay saw the superkick coming and rolled out of the ring. Buck chased. Delay whipped him hard into the barricade. Chase got bumped. Turned out Delay had a second set of knucks in his trunks, but Chase recovered in time to give Delay a wedgie, and relieve him of his weapon. Chase went to clock Delay with the knucks. He ducked and Chase nailed Buck. Delay made the cover. Chase first resisted make the count, then hesitated at two, before reluctantly slapping the mat for the third time.

Chase fumbled with the knucks like he was going to hit Delay, but he took the high road and begrudgingly raised the champion’s hand. Buck was carried out. Crowd chanted for Chase. My, what a great babyface he turned out to be.

(5) Phil Shatter (with Jeff G. Bailey) defeated Ace Rockwell to retain the NWA National Championship in 23:31. Pretty tough to pick between this match and their 2009 match. They were both great matches. The one last year got off to a better start, but this one finished stronger. Clean breaks early but Shatter was testy. Ace pie-faced him. Shatter returned the favor and said he saw fear. Ace slapped him. The momentum had swung in Rockwell’s favor when Shatter dropped him over the top rope with a press slam at 5:30. Bailey put his Gucci loafers to good use. Shatter methodically worked over Rockwell’s back. There were a couple of shaky spots here. Rockwell kicked out of a standing spinebuster slam, and Shatter showed the first signs of frustration. Rockwell roared back with a barrage of blows and bulldog for a near fall. At 15:00, Shatter speared Rockwell something fierce. Rockwell kicked out but he was in agony. Rockwell instinctively hit Aces High for the close near fall. Rockwell went for the airplane spin, but Shatter grabbed the ropes to block and hit a high knee for a near fall. Shatter hit a devastating PTSD powerbomb. Shatter went nuts when Rockwell somehow kicked out. He trashed the ringsteps and lost his temper, such that he went for an ill-advised top rope elbow. He doesn’t do it often, but when he wants to, Shatter can really fly. Rockwell applied the Sharpshooter center ring. Huge chant for the tap out. Bailey got on the apron, and Rockwell sent the middle rope into his nuts. A sweet series of back and forth counters led to a flying bodypress by Ace for a great false finish. Bailey pulled out the powder, but Rockwell ducked and it went in Shatter’s face. Referee Ken Wallace tossed Bailey out. Rockwell hit a missile dropkick and Shatter kicked out again. One of the things that made this so great was the near falls had people believing it could happen. After a collision of clotheslines, Rockwell tried for Aces High again. Shatter escaped and speared him dead for the three count.

The crowd gave them a standing ovation. Shatter slapped Rockwell’s hand in appreciation. Rockwell waved goodbye from the ring, then circled the ring for a round of hugs and handshakes.

(6) Don Matthews & Shadow Jackson & Tank & Slim J beat Mikal Judas (with Cid Istic) & Shaun Tempers & NWA Anarchy Tag Team Champions Orion Bishop & Skirra Corvus (with Enoch Tsarion) in the War Games when Tsarion threw in the towel at 22:38. This wasn’t a highly anticipated match to begin with. The best War Games matches have stemmed from an organic hatred between warring factions. This one had two manufactured teams without compelling issues between the two sides or strong bonds between the teammates. For whatever reasons, the burning of Matthews’ family bible by Tsarion failed to inflame the situation into a must see showdown match. An ominous sign was the perplexing choice of Matthews to start the match for the babyface team. His skill set is such that he’s the guy you would least want to focus on for five minutes of singles action. Not much happened. Tempers won the coin flip for Team Judas (amazing that the heels have won the coin flip 11 times in row). Bishop entered next. Matthews selling wasn’t what it needed to be (it needed to be like Buck in the previous match). He made a counterproductive one-on-two comeback just before Jackson entered. Tempers was next. Bishop used a spike to bloody Matthews and Jackson. Before Slim J could enter, Newsome waffled him with a chair. J was busted open and helped to the back. Tank went in instead. He bled copiously. Other than the blood, this was still pretty uneventful and without much heat. Judas was last in to make it a four on three beatdown. Matthews wasn’t getting up for the big moves by the heels. It was time for the last babyface to enter but nobody was there. Slim came running out late and entered with a flying reverse DDT off the top of the cage on Bishop. He followed with Screwdriver on the Rocks. Tempers provided the gore factor. He bled buckets. The crimson had made its way all the way down to his boots before it was over. Judas sent J into the cage with El Crucifijo. God, that looked nasty. Corvus tried to bring Tsarion’s cane into the cage, but Matthews smashed him with the cage door. Finish was muddled. Matthews was using his rope to strangle Corvus across the bottom rope, prompting Tsarion to throw in the towel. But Jackson and Tank had Judas and Bishop in grounded submissions as well. Tempers was down and in a state of delirium. From where I sat, it wasn’t clear why Tsarion threw the towel in.

Postmatch, Tank signaled to Judas that he was coming for his title.

NWA Anarchy notes from Hostile Environment 2010:

The status of Shatter and Judas with TNA is unchanged. As of this moment, neither are under contract. The people at NWA Anarchy could only speculate as to how their first TNA TV appearance as wrestlers would impact their future with NWA Anarchy. If they are contracted, then TNA gets approval rights on bookings …Rockwell may or may not return to pro wrestling. His immediate focus will be on completing his degree in Mechanical Engineering. The woman that got physically involved in the angle with Truitt Fields is Rockwell’s legit girlfriend. She’s a schoolteacher in the
Chattanooga area… Anarchy returns to action in one week – Saturday night, August 7, at which time fans can expect to see the fallout from Chase accidentally costing Buck the TV Title…former NWA Anarchy wrestler Jay Clinton was visiting backstage...the unidentified love child in the battle royal was Briscoe Brothers trainee, Dustin Tarr. His myspace is here...After the battle royal, Slim J came out to congratulate trainees Vasser and Newsome. However, Newsome was appeared frustrated by the loss and the jealous that Slim shook Vasser's hand first.

On a personal note, the condolences and support extended my way by Jerry Palmer and other folks at Anarchy regarding my father's death were much appreciated. If you need a charitable organization that you can feel good about donating to, look no further than the Les Turner ALS Foundation in
Chicago.

"Mr. Ultimate NWA" Scott Hensley's observations on the matches...

Henry vs. Pendleton had some great spots and I really didn't expect to see Henry win the YLC, glad the torch has been passed to him though as I do agree he is the most talented and proven newcomer.

New Wave vs. Hate Junkies was really good. I really enjoyed the Talent and Money postmatch beatdown followed by Youth Gone Wild trying to make the save, only to be cut off by the Junkies. Great execution by all four teams involved. Anarchy almost always has a really interesting tag division with great teams, feuds, and lots of awesome action.

Buck vs. Delay with Chase as referee was a match that I didn't care that much about, going into it but I really enjoyed the match and it came off absolutely great. Delay pulled the second pair of brass knuckles from underneath the ring steps.

Shatter vs. Rockwell was a rollercoaster ride with so many believable nearfalls. The ovation they received after the match was well deserved and it's sad that both of them may be moving on from Anarchy soon(Rockwell taking time off and Shatter possibly growing in his role with TNA)

The War Games had some great spots, great blood..... but just lacked something... I think the guys in the match went all out but the story just wasn't there this year. Most of the crowd likes Don Matthews but I just think he had too much to do in this match. Him beating up Skirra Corvus for the first five minutes of the match just wasn't entertaining at all. I didn't like the teams being at ringside during the event either... I think if each guy had their own entrance it would have added a little more excitement. Newsome's chairshot on Slim J didn't come off very well either in my opinion. I don't think it was hard enough to be believable and fans either couldn't see it or thought it was so weak that it wouldn't matter. Newsome moved away entirely too slowly, as Tank stormed over with a chain toward him. Anyone should run from a guy as tough as Tank carrying a huge chain.... especially if you just knocked one of his teammates in the back with a chair.

Episode 14 – “The Headliner” by Larry Goodman
Taped June 24, 2010 in Nashville at 413 Veritas St

“Mouth of the North” Aaron Camaro was joined this week by Jeff “The Crippler” Daniels, who revealed that the new NWA Mid-America TV Champion “No Mercy” Tommy Mercer would be making his first title defense this week. Camaro was in the dark about this. Daniels kayfabed Camaro ont the identity of Mercer’s opponent.

(1) Team P.H.A.T. (Farron Foxx & Richard Lowe with JD Fluffy) beat Phil Macchio & Derrick Neal. Foxx and Lowe hugged. Noting Fluffy in their corner, Daniels said “What a tremendous combination with those three.” At least in poundage. The match was barely underway when they went to a black & white Mr. Clean commercial from the 60s, returning just in time to see Macchio deliver a series of lame martial arts kicks. The collision between Foxx and Lowe was even worse. Foxx pinned Macchio with a Pedigree.

Will Owens, Damian Payne and Xavier Mustafa hit the ring. Owens clotheslined Fluffy. Payne gave Neal a hammerlock lariat. Mustafa hit a DVD to leave Macchio laying as well.

Mercer entered the ring with Daniels. He scowled at the female fans screaming their heads off for him. Mercer told the
Nashville trash to get on their feet and bow to the new champion. Mercer said he beat their hero, Matt Boyce and ran him out of the NWA. The cheering stopped. Daniels said he made sure Mercer would be champion. “You didn’t make sure of nothing,” Mercer said. “You weren’t here last week when I won this belt. You didn’t do a damn thing. I did this on my own. I told you plenty of times, Crippler, I don’t need your damn help.” Daniels reminded Mercer that prior to last week, he had run out of title shots. “I told you I would come through for you and what happened? You got a title shot last week,” Daniels said. Camaro said he had two words: atomic popsicle stick, which was three words but a valid point nevertheless. Mercer said that was hearsay and he didn’t cheat. Mercer said his mere presence was the main event. “I’m going to take **** down to Broadway and party with the women,” Mercer said. Daniels said, “You’re going to take the night off and go party? You’re going to leave right now and I’m stuck with Aaron Camaro? If you can give me 10 minutes to shake him off my coattail, I’ll go party with you.”

“The Headliner” Chris Michaels entered the ring. Daniels said Michaels didn’t even work for the NWA. Michaels said it been a long time since he worked for the NWA in
Nashville and he was glad to be back. “Look no further big man, because you’re competition is standing in front of you right now.” The crowd started to chant for Michaels a bit. Mercer wanted to know what made Michaels think he could walk in and get a title shot. “You are 10 years past your prime. You and Jeff Daniels, both of you old men need to be at home watching me tear through the NWA.” Daniels said he was getting sick of the old guy stuff. He said Michaels was the toughest guy he ever stood across the ring from. “Don’t take us guys too lightly, Mercer. Don’t let your head get too big. You remember that. Be careful what you say, because it just might come back to bite you,” said Daniels. Michaels said Daniels spoke the truth. “If you wadn’t what you say you are you wouldn’t be holding the title right now, but let me tell you this: If it was not for guys like Jeff Daniels and Chris Michaels there would be no Tommy Mercer.” Michaels challenged Mercer to back up the talk and put up the title. Mercer shook his head no. “You’re the TV champion, Tommy,” Daniels said. “When I was the TV champion, I wrestled on every TV show there was, and defended my belt every time that camera was running. And you want to talk about he’s past his prime? Then put him out of his misery and put the belt up.” A “chicken” chant erupted. Mercer said he wasn’t ducking anybody and he damn sure wasn’t a chicken. “Chris Michaels, you want a shot? I’ll tell you what. I’ll make you another victim, brother. It’s on tonight.”

O”Mannly Moment with Dan O’Mannly and his bodyguard and “party animal” Mustafa. O’Mannly said Rudy Charles was insane and promised to do a sitdown to find out what was wrong with that maniac. O’Mannly said “Seven Figure Deal” Ace Rockwell was more like the two dollar deal at Taco Bell. O’Mannly said Rockwell wasn’t there for the Five Minute Challenge with Se7en. “I’m not saying he’s a chicken but many people say he has poultry blood in his veins. You see feathers coming out of his tail side.” O’Mannly called Super Barney out because he had some questions to ask. O’Mannly asked if Barney was in fact a superhero. Barney struck his superhero pose. O’Mannly took that as a yes. O’Mannly asked Barney if he would do battle with any evildoer and battle aliens for Mike Posey. Yes and yes. O’Mannly asked Barney if he would battle a monster. Barney flexed his biceps.

Out came The Reverend with Se7en. Reverend said they were in awful mood because Ace Rockwell wasn’t there, so Super Barney would have to do.

“I’m not asking you to leap a tall building in a single bound. I’m not asking you to stop a speeding bullet. All I’m asking you to do is last five minutes with the monster Se7en.” Barney struck his superhero pose.

(2) The Rev’s Five Minute Challenge: Se7en (with the Reverend & Dan O’Mannly & Xavier Mustafa & Will Owens) vs. Super Barney ended at
1:47 when Owens and Mustafa interfered. Se7en was destroying Barney. Daniels said he would lucky to last a minute. Barney fired up out of nowhere. They collided. Barney went down like had been shot. Se7en teetered before going down as well. O’Mannly’s guys attacked Barney. The Rev called Se7en off.

Owens went after Barney’s mask. White Tiger ran in for the save. Payne attacked Tiger and beat him down. Owens started for the mask again. Chris Cane came flying in with a high crossbody. Mustafa caught Cane like he was a small child, but Tiger’s missile dropkick knocked Mustafa down. The other heels backed off despite all three babyfaces laying on the canvas.

Back from commercial, referee Jesse Fields had ordered a six man tag. Daniels said Bill Behrens was not going to approve.

(3) Super Barney & White Tiger & “Colossal” Chris Cane beat Will Owens & Xavier Mustafa & Damien Payne (with Dan O’Mannly) in
8:42. Right off the bat, Payne hit a uranage backbreaker on Cane. Daniels said Cane has spent time in Mexico with AAA and not to sell him short (ha, ha). O’Mannly’s crew utterly destroyed Cane’s back. When Mustafa hit a reverse splash, Daniels said Cane had just gone from colossal to crushed. At five minutes in, Cane had an opening to tag and hit the ropes instead. The tag finally came after Cane made Mustafa miss with a XXXL moonsault. Tiger was on fire. He hit the Tiger Pounce on Owens, and started to climb for the splash but made the tag to Barney, who finished Owens with a reverse DDT.

(4) “No Mercy” Tommy Mercer defeated “The Headliner” Chris Michaels to retain the NWA Mid-America TV Championship in
8:13. Michaels couldn’t cope with his power, and Mercer was looking supremely confident. After an abrupt edit, it was total domination by Mercer. Michaels was being humiliated, and Daniels was putting Mercer over like the second coming. Daniels said after getting a run of title defenses under his belt, Mercer would automatically become a contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and Phil Shatter’s NWA National Title (now there are two matches I’d like to see). Michaels blasted Mercer with a flying forearm from the blue. He immediately hit two of his signature moves for near falls and set up for the superkick. Daniels chose this moment to abandon the broadcast table. Mercer blocked the superkick, nailed Michaels with the Mind Eraser (discus elbow), and went for the cover, but there was Daniels distracting referee Jamie Ferrari. Mercer collared Daniels. Ferrari stepped in and while his back was turned, Daniels punched Michaels. Mercy then hit the Mercy Kill to score the pinfall on Michaels.

Mercer and Daniels teased problems, but they ended up smiling and shaking hands. Daniels then thrust Mercer’s hand into the air and pointed at him. The crowd reaction was very loud and very mixed to this. Daniels put the title belt around Mercer’s waist and they did one final pose.

Thoughts: It was heartening to see that the Daniels/Mercer story has yet to be fully told. That was one hot main event and it had a compelling story to tell. Mercer was getting strong split reaction. A lot of the people were hating his arrogant, cheating ass, but a lot of the women are responding in the opposite way owing to umm…Mercer’s raw, physicality. It was a smart move to bring in a name challenger for Mercer right off the bat. I like they way the match played out with Michaels not even looking competitive. Then the veteran finds an opening. Bam! The inexperienced champion finds himself in deep trouble. The finish was right in line with the long term story arc. Mercer could argue he had the match won on his own. Daniels could say he was there when Mercer needed him. It’s got to come to a head eventually. Both of the talking segments worked well. The back and forth between Mercer and Daniels was pretty great as usual. Just the right dose of tension. The O’Mannly Moment was entertaining. The Reverend’s delivery is tremendous. The problem was doing two lengthy talk segments back-to-back. 15 straight minutes of talking was just too much. The stuff between O’Mannly crew and Super Barney and Co. had credibility issues. I could not for the life of me suspend disbelief when the heels ran away with all the babyfaces down selling. Then there was the bad ring positioning when Cane could have, should have tagged. If Payne stays between Cane and the babyface corner, there’s no problem. An interesting editing decision by Andrew Becker to insert the Mr. Clean commercial and pare the first match down to 60 seconds total. Based on what he aired, he did the viewers a favor. I liked the chemistry between Camaro and Daniels. Daniels did a fantastic job of getting the talent and the angles over. Another thumbs show, just not as good as last week, which would have been pretty tough to match.

NWA TOP ROPE SHOW REPORT For 7-24-10

(New NWA World Womens Champion & NWA National Title defended)

Every title that NWA:TR has to offer was on the line as well as two of the major titles in the NWA as a whole.

The night was a sold out, capacity crowd of 225 in the Corsica Joe Sportatorium. Every match, bell to bell, was impactful and amazing. Every fan definitely got their money's worth tonight.

Also happening in
Lebanon, three cameras were placed throughout the arena as this show will be released on DVD, as well as serve as the first two episodes of the new NWA:TR television show coming in August.

The night got off to a fast paced start as the NWA Junior Heavyweight Title was placed on the line in a match pitting “Bad Boy” Kevin Dunn against “The Sharp Dressed Man”
Lawrence. The official of the match was hand selected by “The Maestro” Scott Barry as Jamie Ferrari. A very fast paced battle took place, yet in the end, Ferrari made the one, two, three to his rival. Kevin Dunn walks out of the match retaining the title as Lawrence and Barry had words post match.

Mike Sircy's hand selected tag team of Pappy and Psycho, otherwise known as The Asylum, went toe-to-toe with Ben Jordan and Steve Neely, The Wildboys. On the line? The NWA:TR Southern Tag Team Championship. The Wildboys were up to their usual shifty tactics in order to try to retain the belts, however, in the end, The Asylum was able to overcome the tactics of The Wildboys and capture their first NWA:TR titles!

A short intermission was then had before coming back to the action with one half of the legendary tag team PG13, JC Ice. JC defends the NWA:TR Television Title against the baddest man in
Louisville, Vic the Bruiser. Vic was specially brought in by Scott Barry's Cartel to take out JC Ice, as leading into this match, JC took out Jamie Ferrari, Jeff Daniels, and Scott Barry with his trademark hubcap. Vic brutalized JC Ice up and down the building, but frustration finally got the better of JC as he used that trademark hubcap again to take out Vic. JC retains the title, as a title cannot change hands via disqualification. Post match, however, Vic got his revenge by laying a vicious beating on JC.

Up next was the Tennessee Heavyweight Championship match. “Dirty” Dutch Mantell faced off against the champion himself, The Cartel's Jeff “The Crippler” Daniels with “The First Lady of the NWA” Dominique. This match was brutal. Going all over the arena, into the crowd, anywhere and everywhere. These two men were all over the place and were not stopping at all. In the end, however, Dutch was disqualified as Jeff's face was covered with his own powder. As Jeff was preparing to throw the powder into the face of Mantell, Daniels' hand was kicked and the plan backfired as the powder went into his own eyes instead. The referee, seeing only Jeff's powder covered face, made the only call he could, and DQ'd the legend himself, giving Jeff the win and the retention of the Tennessee Heavyweight Championship.

Another intermission was had and we were led into the semi main event of the night. “The Universal Soldier” Phil Shatter against the
Lebanon favorite, “The Boogie Woogie Boy” Gary Valiant. This match was for the NWA National Heavyweight Championship. Shatter has been the champion for a long time now and has earned his way to becoming the Number One Contender to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship currently being held by “Scrap Iron” Adam Pierce. Valiant clearly had the crowd behind him in this match up, and the action was hot, intense, and heated. Shatter was using this match as another calling card to the NWA Board of Directors in Charlotte, NC. He wanted this match to showcase his talents to the board and show why he deserves that title shot against Pierce as soon as possible. Valiant wanted to show his own talents and to prove that he is the best in the nation, and defeating Shatter and taking his belt would be a HUGE step in proving that fact as well. Both these men put it all on the line and were matching each other move for move, combo for combo, slam for slam. It looked as though this match was going to go the distance and the first man with a lucky break was going to catch the win. Unfortunately for Valiant, that lucky break went Shatter's way as Jeff Daniels made his way to the ringside and distracted Valiant for just a moment. Shatter was able to capitalize on the distraction and score the win over Valiant. Phil Shatter, The Universal Soldier, was able to retain and successfully defend the NWA National Heavyweight Championship.

Finally, in the Main Event of the night, the NWA Women's Championship was placed on the line. Defending champion MsChif faced
Memphis, Tennessee's own Tasha Simone. The Cartel's Dominique escorted MsChif to ringside. These women know each other very well as they have squared of multiple times in the last few years. Tasha was among MsChif's first competitors. These two knew everything about each other, and so this match was deemed a “No Disqualification, No Time Limit” match, so that these ladies were able to do anything it took to win. MsChif came into this match having held the title for 818 days thus far. Midway through the match, MsChif sprayed Dominique with her trademark mist, thereby negating The Cartel's advantage over the match. MsChif wanted a clean fought match as evidenced by many, many times where she could have taken advantage of Tasha and did not. MsChif was even helpful to Tasha, as towards the end of the match, MsChif sprayed her mist in the face of Tasha, then washed it off, wanting, again, the clean match with definitive finish. However, that finish was not in MsChif's favor as Tasha was able to utilize her Impact Facebuster and pin MsChif to win the NWA Women's World Championship. Both women were very congratulatory towards each other, hugging and shaking hands at the end of the match.

This show was filled to capacity, with every seat sold out and the action inside was just as hot as the weather outside! Mike Sircy and the rest of the NWA:TR staff were able to produce an absolutely stellar show with the stars of NWA's past, present, and future!

New NWA Ladies World Champion Crowned

On July 24th in Lebanon, TN, MsChif defended her title against Tasha Simone.  These two women battled all over the NWA Top Rope Arena and then some, even going outside in the parking lot in a No Time Limit, No Disqualification match for the NWA Women’s World Championship.

As these two are no strangers to one another, a packed house of 225 people watched for 32:09 as these women brutalized one another back and forth.  From being tossed down a flight of stairs to having their head busted open on a car hood nothing seemed to be out of reach for either competitor.  Both women put everything they had into this match and then some.

In the end, these two fought throughout the arena and even through the concession stand, and finally back to the ring when MsChif sprayed green mist into Tasha Simone's eyes, and everyone thought it was over.  MsChif immediately ran for water at the concession only to surprise everyone when she washed Tasha's eyes out.  As the fans watched this happen you could hear a lot of fans talking wondering what MsChif was doing.  As soon as the mist was removed, MsChif continued to brutalize Tasha, and finally MsChif gave Tasha one opportunity she will probably regret as Tasha dropped MsChif face first to the mat, and we saw a three count and a NEW NWA Ladies World Champion crowned
