New Texas Tag Team Champions |
|
A new Texas Tag Team champion was crowned June 13 - and a team not even scheduled won - as The Blacktinos (David Martinez and DJ King) took out Team Texas at VFW Cypress in Houston. Friday the 13th represented nothing but good luck for The Blacktinos.
Team Texas ( Mr. Destiny & Chaz Taylor) were supposed to face the challenge of Austin-based Total Devastation, but the challengers were unable to make the trip due to sudden illness and they were replaced with The Blacktinos by NWA-SW promoter Ken Taylor.
The Blacktinos are former champions having held the belt last year from Feb 9 - October 12.
Taylor said The Blacktinos will be signed to defend their belts on July 19th against a yet to be determined opponent and probably will take place in Dallas, Texas. |

New Texas Junior champ crowned |
|
A new Texas Junior champion was crowned on June 13, at VFW Cypress in Houston, to replace Cyclone, who broke his ankle back in April and was forced to vacate the NWA Texas Junior Heavyweight title.
The match to replace the vacant title was between two former champions - David Stahr and Golden Prince - to determine a new Champion.
The two fought back and forth in front of a packed house. Golden Prince attempted several vicious assaults, but David Stahr used the crucifix pedigree, to win the match.
